There is no denying the fact that you have more than likely heard of the former NBA player, Allen Iverson. Iverson’s professional basketball career spanned the length of fourteen seasons, most of which saw him playing either shooting guard or point guard positions. The recipient of multiple awards and titles while in his prime, some of those achievements include being an eleven-time All Star, the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award in 2001, and even the All-Star game MVP in 2005.
Outside of the court, Iverson was able to build himself the family he had always wanted. Being the proud father to five children, Iverson was blessed with three daughters and two sons, all with his now ex-wife, Tawanna Turner. Tiaura Iverson: The First Born of Allen Iverson and Tawanna Turner
Tiaura Iverson is Allen Iverson’s and Tawanna Turner’s very first child together. Allen would decide to get married to the girlfriend that he had in high school, Tawanna Turner, back in 2001. For the first several years, the couple would have no troubles of any kind and everything in their relationship would be going nice and smooth. However, like most good things in life, the marriage between the two would eventually start to come to an end. In 2009 alone, Tawanna would file for divorce on two separate occasions, deciding to part ways from her high school sweetheart, Allen. The divorce between the two of them would become official a few years later, officially becoming finalized in 2013.
While Allen and Tawanna were still together as wife and husband, the two would have the opportunity to welcome their first of five children into the world together, the first one being Tiaura Iverson. This means that Tiaura is the oldest out of her four other siblings, her birthday being on December 15, 1995. She was born in the United States and has lived there ever since.
There have been no details released by either Tiaura or Allen Iverson about Tiaura’s childhood and anything related to it. On top of that, there is no public information in regard to the education that Tiaura received while she was growing up as well.
Tiaura’s Siblings
As was previously mentioned, Tiaura Iverson is the oldest child when compared to her four siblings. This means that she has four younger siblings, two sisters and two brothers. It would not be until ten years after she was born that her parents, Allen and Tawanna would welcome their second child and Tiaura’s first sister into the world. Her name would be Messiah Lauren Iverson, and she was born on August 16, 2005. The now family of four would welcome their third child and Tiaura’s second little sister, Dream Alijha Iverson, on October 7, 2008.
The family would continue to grow with the birth of Tiaura’s two little brothers who were born in 1998 and August of 2003, their names being Allen Iverson II and Isaiah Rahsaan Iverson, respectively.

Tiaura’s parents originally met while they were still in high school. Oddly enough, however, Allen and Tawanna would date for almost an entire decade before actually getting married to each other, which would happen in 2001.
There is no doubting the commitment that Tiaura’s parents had for each other, as her mother, Tawanna, would always be right there for her then husband, Allen. No matter what series of events life would throw at them, they were there for each other. Even when her father was going through a rough patch and had to serve time in prison, Tawanna was right there by his side waiting to help him. So, you may be wondering why Tiaura’s parents would decide to split up if they were always there for each other?
Even the happiest of marriages can start to go wrong, and that is exactly what happened with Tiarua’s parents. Tawanna would make the decision to file for divorce in 2009, taking roughly four years to become official in 2013. Her decision to file for divorce was due to the fact that Allen was supposedly suffering from alcoholism, infidelity, gambling, and wasting all of the assets that he had accumulated over the span of his successful basketball career. Tiaura’s mom would go on and reveal that she had to eventually sell the ornaments that she had collected over the years in order to pay the tuition fees for her children’s schools. Allen would eventually admit to all of these claims that his now ex-wife was making, blaming a lot of it on his NBA career.
Even though Tiaura’s parents did officially become divorced, the two would not be able to stay away from each other for very long. The old saying that ‘love will always find away’, appears to be true as far as Tiaura’s mother and father are concerned. The love that Allen and Tawanna once shared did not die just because the two were legally separated. They would soon reconcile after the divorce was finalized, getting back together and being a family again. Tiaura, along with the rest of her family, are currently residing and living out their lives in the state of Georgia.
