Blair Tindall was born in North Carolina, to George Brown Tindall who was also a historian, and Blossom Tindall. She loved to play the piano from a very young age and then decided to switch to oboe when she joined the junior high school band. It was because her surname was placed in alphabetical order in the school, she got to be the last one to choose the instrument of her choice and the only instrument available was the oboe. She passed her high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts and then achieved the bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the School of Music, Manhattan, and then went on to pursue her masters in communication from Stanford University, she got a full scholarship for the University study. She also went to study at Columbia University.
Career
Tindall has spent her entire life, almost 23 years to work as a musician, professionally, in New York City. She used to play with music bands such as Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s & New York Philharmonic. She presented a wonderful solo piece which even the critics also loved. Her solo debut at Carnegie Recital Hall got her a jazz Grammy nomination. She even performed many film soundtracks which also includes movies such as Malcolm X, for which she was lauded by many magazines. She was also seen in performance with drummer Charlie Watts, who was a Rolling Stones member, the piece was performed at the Blue Note jazz club.
Tindall had even had experience in teaching journalism at Stanford and even taught her favorite music at the University of Berkeley, the University of California, and Mills College. She was seen to also have got residencies at Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, the Ucross Foundation & the MacDowell Colony.
When she was still studying & get her education completed at Stanford, Tindall used to earn her living by performing with the San Francisco Symphony, she was also seen as a soloist with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. At this time, she also worked at the Examiner (Hearst) as a staff business reporter and Contra Costa Times in Walnut Creek as a critic-at-large. the year 2005 was an important year for her as she published Classical Music (Atlantic Monthly Press) biography of her experiences in the classical music world. It was named as one of the top five arts stories of the year by the National Public Radio &. Mozart in the Jungle: Sex & Drugs. Her book (Classical Music) was also praised by musicologist Richard Taruskin as “the smartest take on [the classical music] situation”. Later in 2014, the book was selected for a web video series of the same name by Amazon Studios. The people involved in the video series were Jason Schwartzman, Roman Coppola, and Alex Timbers. It was directed by Paul Weitz. The video series starred Malcolm McDowell, Saffron Burrows, Lola Kirke, Gael Garcia Bernal & Bernadette Peters.

Personal Life
She married Bill Nye on February 3, 2006, who was also a married science educator. The wedding ceremony was performed at The Entertainment Gathering at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles by Rick Warren. The one who provided the music was Yo-Yo Ma. However, The State of California declared the marriage invalid after Seven weeks, for reasons both of them had ever revealed. It is when Nye left Tindall, and also annulled their marriage. In 2007, Tindall had broken into Nye’s house and had stolen several items.
