There is a very good chance that you have heard of the actor who goes by the name of Marion Wayans. In fact, you may have even heard about before he ever graced the big screen and was a very well-known comedian. What you might not have heard about however, is that Marion Wayans actually had a daughter named Amai Zackery Wayans. While you may be thinking ‘great, he has a daughter’, what makes their relationship so special is that he is always publicly supporting her and her sexual preference whenever anybody asks about it.
It is no big secret that Marion is a talented actor who was able to catch his break back in the 90s when his brother and him were working on their show together, ‘The Wayans Bros.’ Moving forward from that show, he would make his way to several others, eventually finding his way into movies like ‘Little Man’, ‘GI Joe’, and ‘White Chicks’.

Amai Zackary Wayans Coming Out to Her Father
Growing up as a child, Amai would have the love and support of both her father (Marion), and her mother (Angelica Zachary). On top of that, she had the support of her brother, Shawn Howell.
Being born into one of the most talented and funniest families in all of entertainment, the Wayans, everybody was sure that she would follow suit and get involved with the family business (comedy). With aunts and uncles including Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans, and Keenen Ivory, it’s almost as though Amai getting involved with comedy was inevitable. However, Amai would decide to take a much different path than everyone else in her family.
In an interview that Marion did back in June of 2019, he would touch on Amai’s sexuality in a very light way. He would start by describing her as a ‘very intellectual nerd’. He soon followed that up saying how she had come out of the closet to him while she was just the young age of 14 years old. The way she did it though, was classic, however. She would quote one of the lines from a very popular Katy Perry song, those lyrics being: ‘I kissed a girl and I liked it’.
Amai Wayans Almost Chose a Different Song
During the same interview, Marion could not help himself and had to make a joke about, asking her why she had decided to choose that particular Katy Perry song instead of using the Aretha Franklin song ‘One to Come Out’. He would then add that no matter what Amai ever did, he would never judge her for being her. He loves Amai with all of his heart and that love is unconditional. He would later add how he never judges anybody, and that life is love.

There have been several different occasions where Amai has been able to make headlines. However, on june2, 2019, Marion would take to Instagram in order to show how proud of his daughter he was and how unconditionally loved she was by him in a Pride post.
In the photo in question, the at the time 20-year-old Amai appears to be sitting down and stretching her legs out and in front of herself. On the bottom of her shoes, she had all the colors of the rainbow, which in case you didn’t know, is the international symbol for the LGBTQ-community.
As for the caption that Marion wrote, he stated that he would never change ‘one effing thing’ when it came to his daughter Amai, following that up saying how deeply he loved her. Unfortunately, however, trolls will be trolls and there were several different people who would post comments blaming him for her decision to be gay and how it meant that he was one of the worst parents to ever be a parent.
But don’t feel bad for Marion or Amai, as he had a very clever way of responding to them. He let them know that he would not allow or tolerate anybody ever being disrespectful or making disrespectful remarks towards Amai. He simply let them know that it doesn’t matter how old you are. You should love her for who she is and not who you want her to be.
